Manchester Academy Welcomes New Head Football Coach

Manchester Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Bunio as the new head football coach for Manchester Academy. Coach Bunio demonstrates exceptional leadership, innovative coaching strategies, a passion for the game, and a deep commitment to the development of our student-athletes both on and off the field.

With 10 years of coaching experience, he has served as a head coach, offensive coordinator and position coach. He has led teams to achieve school record wins, playoff appearances, team offensive records and player development milestones. Beyond athletic success, Coach Bunio is dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity, discipline, and teamwork that reflects the mission of Manchester Academy.

Manchester Academy looks forward to building on its proud football tradition under Coach Bunio’s leadership, confident that his proven ability to inspire both athletic and academic success aligns perfectly with our school’s mission to equip our students. Coach Bunio emphasizes the importance of academic excellence and character building, ensuring our student-athletes are prepared for success in all aspects of life.

Coach Bunio has previously served as Head Football Coach at Briarfield Academy, Clinton Christian Academy, and Elkmont High, Alabama, as well as Offensive Coordinator at Pillow Academy (presently), Trinity Episcopal and Haleyville High, Alabama.  He has Bachelor and Master degrees from Mississippi College.

We invite the entire Manchester Academy community to join us in welcoming Coach Bunio to our family. He will be hosting a meet-and-greet event on Monday, January 6, 2025 in the school library at 3:00 pm where you can learn more about his vision for the Mavericks.
